Sunlight & Shadows

Very early this morning, the pavement was wet from last night's rain. Now, the sun is shining and the sky is a glorious blue. The next door pine trees provide a lovely mix of shadow graphics and the softest dapple effect in the moss along the fence line.

I couldn't resist a couple of photos from inside. I am eagerly anticipating the bloom of the white hyacinth bulb.

The pretty lime green spider mums are still holding on! I transferred them to my favorite vintage cobalt blue bottles. Moved these lovelies into the light from their perch on my kitchen windowsill. Anything to bring a smile while washing dishes and doing kitchen chores is a blessing!

I hope you enjoyed my little bits of sunlight today. Smile at the next person you see.. add a bit of sunshine to that life! Please visit My Little Home and Garden for her offering and links to the other participants. Happy week ahead!

    1. Lorrie... I just couldn't resist bringing home the little hyacinth from Friday's shopping trip. Hoping the blooming results are photo worthy! Thanks for the visit!

  2. I can understand your anticipation of the hyacinth bloom, Susan; my amaryllis has shot up and a fat bud has formed near its base, so it's just a matter of time.

I like the look of your brilliant sky and would that be green grass I see? I should mention that some snow has been flying about here today.

It's very nice to see you at Sunlit Sunday again. Thank you.

    1. Somehow I always miss out on forcing an amaryllis to bloom for Christmas! But I eagerly await those beauties in the garden come springtime. The green is mostly moss that grows along the fence row and a nice variety of weeds. How is it that the frost or freezing temps never kill the weeds? Thanks for hosting Sunlit Sunday. Smiles...Susan

  3. I love hyacinths and have lots of them planted in the bed by the back door. I love to walk by, when they bloom, or open the window near the door to enjoy the perfume.

    1. Oh, Jen... when the Christmas decorations come down, I begin looking for Spring! I am not a Winter person... not complaining... I know the earth needs to rest and rejuvenate, but I am ready for the buttercups to blossom! Your visits are welcome and appreciated!

  12. Love the fence shadows! I need to pick up a few of those blue bottles - they're lovely for garden bouquets. I've seen them occasionally at Value Village. Very pretty blue sky. I'm in the middle of a snowstorm :)

    1. Oh my Kathie...stay warm! The temp has dropped considerably here to below freezing in the early morning. The blue Bromo Seltzer bottles were roadside finds at a flea market in Tennessee. The next time you see them...be sure to pick up a couple. You will enjoy!
