  7. Great pics, you have such wonderful observation, a lot of people wouldn't even notice some of the things you have snapped. As a musician, my favourite is the piano shot.

    1. The piano is very special...my parents bought it for me as a child. It was over a 100 years old at the time.. Now add 55 years to that... It is truly an antique! From the photo, A dusty antique... ;-)

    2. Some chance of that! Here in the uk we have had one of the latest coldest springs ever, June today and still not very warm!
You asked about the Chelsea pensioner. The Royal Hospital in London is a home for retired and injured soldiers, it has been there hundreds of years and was built by Sir Christopher Wren. They wear the red uniform to show who they are. It is a massive place in the middle of London, right next to the Thames, It is surrounded by some large gardens and each year, for the past 100 years they have held The Chelsea Flower Show, which is the major flower show in the country.
We use the word pensioner for anyone that has reached retirement age and receives a pension - an amount of money to live on, either from the state or from personal savings. Funny how we use different words and terms in other countires and yet all speak the same language!

    3. Thanks for taking time to explain. We use the word "retiree" here... As a matter of fact, as of July 1 2013, I will be a full time retiree aka pensioner!

  9. Lovely photos but my absolute favourite is patriotic as I love hot air balloons. Broken is very interesting too - it looks like modern art. And how funny that we had the same idea for washing and keys! x

  11. Dear Susan,
thank you for those lovely photographs!
So the song of the Rolling Stones wasn't made for you - 'I saw a red door and I want to paint it black' - that's a good sign, because red has such a vibrant energy!

Britta... No, no... no black doors for me! This energizing red door is on MY car... I waited 44 years to own a Ford Mustang... it had to be RED! However, due to my generation, I am definitely a Stones' fan. Let's just say that the red door brings me lots of "Satisfaction!" Smiles to you...Susan

    2. Our Son bought first a black, then a red Pontiac Firebird, between being 20 - 25 years old. He still dreams of those cars - now he is 29 and has a BMW. But a Ford Mustang, Susan: I would gladly jump into one (mine would be white). Isn't it a lovely car?

    3. Firebirds....what fun! BMW ...very nice. White Mustang=Classic!

  18. Well done, I only managed half of the clues this time. I love both of the beach photos they remind me of the time we usually spend by the seaside when we go on holiday.

  19. Good morning Susan!

What a FUN POST! This is something I should do with my writing students; any kind of prompt is great to get you to write or observe an object like you never would otherwise!

The sea, the sky and all that is blue and green fascinates me and gives me peace. Thank you for coming to visit and most of all, leaving me a comment to let me know you came by. My beloved parents left me 28 years ago; my mum on Father's Day and my dad two weeks later. But light...light takes time to travel, and WE ARE THE LIGHT and how profound that light = goodness and love and that science does show us how light behaves. Oh how thrilling are the possibilities to discover about life!

    Enjoy your day, Anita

    1. Anita... Thanks for your visit. I love the idea of the writing prompt! The monthly SH gives me an opportunity to stretch my thinking and my camera skills. I am in sync with your thoughts about your parents. My parents died 3 months apart 32 years ago. Even at almost 30 years of age I felt deserted. Their loss and my coming to grips with my feelings and place in the universe is still a journey. Writing about them allows me to confirm their presence and continued influence in my life. Wishes for a pleasant weekend! Susan
