Walking in Sunshine...

Finally, the rain and grey skies are gone… glorious sunshiny day! On the cold, wet, cloudy days, I find myself withdrawing into my little nest at the end of the sofa. Book, magazine, or iPad in hand, I huddle leaving only long enough to do the required meals and daily chores.

For a few days this week… oh my, glorious turquoise skies and brilliant sunshine. Mild temperatures and sunshine... and irresistible combination for someone who has too long been away from her camera. The short walk out behind my backyard neighbors was awakening... inspiring!

Sometimes we have to walk through the shadows to appreciate the sunshine.

The sunshine on the other side was a gift.

If anyone north of the Mason-Dixon Line wonders where the geese come to Winter... here is one answer.

31.7156° N, 83.2564° W

The beauty of the sunny, mild Winter days gave way to more chilling rain and cold. I have said this before... if you don't like Southern weather in the morning.. just stick around until lunch.. forever changing!

Joining Karen over at Sunlit Sunday. Thanks, Karen, for getting  me off the sofa and out with my camera. Hope that wherever you are you are having a "sunlit" day... and good wishes for a pleasant week.

  1. The dark cloudy days are a real bummer. I love the fence and the shadows, the beautiful sky. Got a chuckle out of the geese! Lovely image of the old farmhouse and reflections on the water. Beautiful scenery.

    1. Liz... There are promises of Spring all around.. Tiny pine seedlings planted by the wind, emerging buds on the Bradford pears, and best of all... Daffodils in progress! Stay tuned... Hoping for enough sunny days to capture a few of these! Thanks for the visit.

  3. I glad I helped inspire you to get off the sofa. Thanks for the nudge back as I need to do more of that myself! Your discovery of bits of green holds the promise of spring. The geese seemed to be enjoying the mild day as much as you did.

    Have a lovely week, Susan.

    1. Oh no, just the mention of snow sends us into a frenzied state. But while our little world comes to a standstill... We love the rare occasion when we have a couple of inches! Thanks for stopping in.

  10. Dear Susan,
beautiful photos - very worth to leave the couch and walk outside! And blue skies, sunshine and crisp cold air too - so just leaf through the few grey rainy days - and then: wow!

    1. Hi, Amy! Thanks for stopping in. Seems we have a lot in common besides our Southern address! I am retired, enjoy photography... And enjoy both immensely! I am not a disciplined blogger... I enjoy the weekly challenges, but seem to falter otherwise. My DH would be surprised that I am often at a loss for words! Please do visit again... Or in Southernese...Y'all come back anytime!

  16. I think sunshine makes us all feel very happy this time of year.

You might think you have all the Canada gees...but we have quite a few here too. You get the ones we have all summer but WE get the ones that spend summers in the Arctic. Yep, they think we in south-central Canada are a Southern winter paradise. ;))

    1. Agree... The rainy, cold days are bearable when we know the sunshine is coming! Got a giggle from the thought of your Artic geese thinking Winter in Southern Canada was tropical! Appreciate your visit and comments.
