Summer Colors..

Today, we have a little respite from the 100 degree days of the past weeks... a breezy 86 degrees. Even in the heat, the flowers persist...thankfully.

The brilliant blue sky is the perfect backdrop for the lush colors of summer.

The Big Boy tomato vine is living up to its name... It's over 5 feet tall and loaded with shiny green tomatoes. The countdown is on for the first blush of red on those beauties!

Our attempts to tame and support the limbs have been an effort in futility. Each time we think we have it corralled... Another sprig pushes its way out. The little bell pepper plant in between is being engulfed. So my edible garden has a mind of its own... If you don't see me here or on Instagram, you might surmise that the monster tomato vine in South Georgia has swallowed our little piece of paradise! Stay cool and content...watch out for those killer tomatoes!

  1. Dear Susan, thank you for those lovely pictures of your garden! I (almost, because that is a feeling I try to resist) envy you your tomatoes: they look like the "real" thing, not those zestless red things with sprayed on tomatoe perfume they sell here in the shops (even the organic ones - those that are sold - are raised under platic, because of the disease they easily get in the rain). So enjoy your tomatoes when they are ripe! I wish you a lovely week-end, Britta

    1. Britta... The tomatoes really are spectacular. One that I have my eye on is larger than the palm of my hand! Here in the southern US, a tomato sandwich is the perfect summer supper. Two slices of white bread, lots of mayonnaise, salt and pepper with large slices of tomatoes...Yum! Thanks for stopping by! Susan

    1. Thanks for taking time to visit and comment. I enjoy fall, but when enter begins I long for spring...it's good that I live in a climate that has 4 (mostly) distinct seasons!

  5. Susan, I can feel the scorching heat in your pics, but your pretties seem to be doing just fine! I love your colour themed collages, especially the hot pinks; I'm really attracted to this hue this summer, both in clothes and flowers and nail polish!

Hope you are enjoying the cooler temps!

  7. Oh, my! It has been hot where you live. It's hard to fathom such temperatures when I put on my parka and mittens here. Your flowers are beautiful, Susan, and there is nothing like the taste of a fresh picked tomato. Happy New Year to you!

  10. Thank you for this wonderful post, I want to use this opportunity to share about My life how I strunggled with Hiv/Aids Disease before the Lord Jesus in my life as a candle light in the darkness. You showed me the meaning of faith with your words. I know that even when I cried all day thinking about how to recover, you were not sleeping, you were dear to me. I contacted the herbal center Dr Itua, who lived in West Africa. A friend of mine here in Hamburg is also from Africa. She told me about African herbs but I was nervous. I am very afraid when it comes to Africa because I heard many terrible things about them because of my Christianity. god for direction, take a bold step and get in touch with him in the email and then move to WhatsApp, he asked me if I can come for treatment or I want a delivery, I told him I wanted to know him I buy ticket in 2 ways to Africa To meet Dr. Itua, I went there and I was speechless from the people I saw there. Patent, sick people. Itua is a god sent to the world, I told my pastor about what I am doing, Pastor Bill Scheer. We have a real battle beautifully with Spirit and Flesh. Adoration that same night. He prayed for me and asked me to lead. I spent 2 weeks and 2 days in Africa at Dr Itua Herbal Home. After the treatment, he asked me to meet his nurse for the HIV test when I did it. It was negative, I asked my friend to take me to another nearby hospital when I arrived, it was negative. I was overwhite with the result, but happy inside of me. We went with Dr. Itua, I thank him but I explain that I do not have enough to show him my appreciation, that he understands my situation, but I promise that he will testify about his good work. Thank God for my dear friend, Emma, I know I could be reading this now, I want to thank you. And many thanks to Dr. Itua Herbal Center. He gave me his calendar that I put on my wall in my house. Dr. Itua can also cure the following diseases, HIV, Herpes, Neuromuscular Diseases , Hepatitis B, Inflammatory Liver, Diabetes,Inflammatory bowel disease ,Fibromyalgia, recover your ex. You can contact him by email or drituaherbalcenter@gmail.com, ..www.drituaherbalcenter.com .. He is a good doctor, talk to him kindly. I'm sure he will also listen to you.
