  3. Hi Susan,

Your one and only yellow daffodil is definitely enough to let us know that spring is, indeed on the way!

  4. Your one and only daffodil has brought a smile to my face today. I can hardly wait for the snow to clear in a couple of months and see mine emerging from the soil.

  5. Judith, who commented above, and I live in the same province so I can appreciate her remark about "a couple of months". Meanwhile, it will be fun seeing your garden emerge from its winter slumber.

Yellow always strikes me as a happy colour and the daffodil is beautiful. One solitary bloom can be truly appreciated, Susan.

    Enjoy your Sunday with family.

  8. I laughed at your title, The First. My daffodils have come and gone and yesterday I found one last little daffodil hiding in a planter.

  21. There is something so special about the first daffodil.

We had summer from June through November and went right to spring with no winter. My daffodils have come and gone and new flowers are blooming each day. I don't know what to expect in March when spring really arrives.

    1. Carol...last year we went from Winter to Summer with little Spring; however, I will not complain if that is the case this year. Winter has been a fickle time this year! Enjoy what ever March brings!

  22. Hello Susan,

There is nothing which cheers the heart so much as the first sight of a daffodil after winter. So lovely to capture the moment since it does make one believe that all is well with the world.

Thank you for the kind comment on our post. It is good to be back.

    Wishing you a happy weekend!

    1. Just a teaser...rain today and cold temperatures tonight and tomorrow. Fortunately, the daffodils don't mind a bit of chilly weather!
